This board is drilled with a central hole, which is compatible with our Porta Bee Escapes, giving you added flexibility for clearing bees or venting. It also works brilliantly with the BEEtastic Langstroth Nuc Eke – ideal when you want to feed your bees without disturbing the colony.
Multi-use and practical, crown boards aren't just for feeding. They're also used to cover the top of the hive, helping retain warmth in cooler months, reduce condensation, and offer extra security between inspections.

Like any hive equipment, we recommend treating with preserve or paint to maximise the working life. Once treated, New Zealand Pine beats many of the characteristics of British Red Cedar (which is typically fast-grown and felled young making it softer and less durable).
