Keep your hive secure, adaptable and well-managed with BEEtastic’s 4-pack of Langstroth Entrance Blocks – designed to work seamlessly with our vented floors.

Crafted from knot-free New Zealand Pine, this set includes:

• 2x Entrance Reducers – each block can be rotated to give you two different reduced entrance sizes for seasonal or colony strength adjustments - entrance sizes are 11cm and 3cm
• 2x Mouse Guards / entrance blocks – one side features 6 small bee-sized holes to keep mice out during winter, and the other side acts as a solid entrance block

Designed to fit all BEEtastic vented floors, these blocks are easy to swap and adjust as needed. The tight grain and knot-free finish of New Zealand Pine ensure better durability and clean edges that slide smoothly into place.

Will fit all langstroth hives, but may need a little adjusting as our own floors take large entrance blocks. 

Why New Zealand Pine?

• Knot-free – for smoother fits and longer life
• Chinese Pine tends to have knots and sap pockets that split easily
• UK Fir is brittle and warps more often when untreated
• Farmed Cedar is soft and light, but dents and degrades unless regularly maintained

Like any hive equipment, we recommend treating with preserve or paint to maximise the working life. Once treated, New Zealand Pine beats many of the characteristics of British Red Cedar (which is typically fast-grown and felled young making it softer and less durable).
