Perfect for splits, swarms, or queen rearing, this Langstroth 5-frame wooden nuc box is a complete setup made from premium knot-free New Zealand Pine.

If you're looking to split your colony or safely collect a swarm, a good nuc box is essential. This one includes everything you need to create a strong nucleus colony or temporarily house bees during management:

  • Solid floor
  • 5-frame brood box
  • Crown board
  • Roof with metal top for weather protection

Supplied flat pack with all screws included, it's quick and simple to assemble with basic tools. Once built, you’ll have a high-quality, long-lasting box ready for action in your apiary.

Constructed from New Zealand Pine, this box is a real cut above. Unlike cheaper options made from soft UK Fir or Chinese timber, New Zealand Pine is kiln-dried, sustainably sourced, and completely knot-free. It's durable, smooth, and more stable than farmed Cedar – especially when treated with hive paint or wood preserver.

🔑 Key Features:

  • Made from New Zealand Pine – strong, knot-free, and sustainable
  • 5-frame nuc box – ideal for splits, queen rearing, or swarm collection
  • Complete set – includes floor, brood box, crown board, and roof
  • Supplied flat pack – all screws included for easy home assembly
  • Metal-topped roof – offers excellent weather resistance

Like any hive equipment, we recommend treating with preserve or paint to maximise the working life. Once treated, New Zealand Pine beats many of the characteristics of British Red Cedar (which is typically fast-grown and felled young making it softer and less durable).
